Hi. I made this because I like making things easier.

This little zip file contains bsp.exe and bspc.exe. One nice neat location for them. Also, there are 3 batch files. Edit them with notepad or something, replace ut_sample with the name of your map. With these files you will be able to easily/conveniently define your texture surfaces, like when walking on grass, it sounds like grass.

You can only do this after you have compiled your map with -meta. It would be good if you did -vis and -light too, but not necessary. Any time you recompile -meta you will need to go through the steps below again. Have a sucks donut.

First, extract all files into your maps/ dir.

Run 1-surface_generator.bat first. It will generate a file called ut_sample.surface which you will need to edit. See this link for information as to what surfaces may be defined:
http://www.planetquake.com/6thfloor/tutorials/surfaces.htm

Then when you have saved your .surface file, run 2-surface_compiler.bat. That's all one needs to do to define surfaces.

Lastly you'll want to make your bot AI file. Defining surfaces is not necessary to creating the .aas bot file, however compile with -meta as mentioned above is (same caveats). Run 3-aas_botfile_generator.bat. All done! Slightly more info on the .aas file:
