Hey, FSK405 a wily duck here... Made this map in like 15 minutes. I figured it would be fun and fast to make, and someone might like it cause hey, some people want something different, and I deliver.

I have included my map tools kit, extract it to your maps directory. This map is more for mapping n00bs so they can see a generic map in action. For you new guys that are trying to understand what's going on, there are no light entities, and no -light compile, MEANING no lightmap and thus all textures are rendered without light/darkness modifiers. The .map source file has been included. I also added the .aas bot AI file for fun and mayhem. This map supports CaH, CTF, TDM.

The small room is filled with entities, which would be red/blue ctf spawns, tdm spawns, ctf and cah flags. I used textures that you'll find in rommel, part of the default Urban Terror pk3 map packs. If you want to use textures in your map and don't want to go searching around the net, open up the Urban Terror pk3 files (like zQ3UT3.pk3) in winzip or something, and extract everything from textures/ into your q3ut3 directory... i.e. when you're done you'll have quake3/q3ut3/textures populated with all sorts of directories. Follow my tutorial that you can find at the pond (see the URL below) to find out how to get started setting up GtkRadiant. Once set up, feel free to extract the .map file from ut_crowded and load it into GtkRadiant. I currently use version 1.4.0 of gtk.

Next, in my map you'll notice all walls are "miterboxed", i.e. each edge has been angled 45 degrees. This is a method that you should get familiar with immediately. It can be done by using the E key in gtk and moving the Edges of brushes to that nice 45 degree angle. See SID's site (the 6th Floor) for more information/tutorials about miterboxing.

Ah yes, and in your map, be sure to add light entities. I did not as I had no use for them in this tiny little blood bath map. I also did not use a skybox nor shaders. That makes this map about as simple as it comes. If you can't break 60fps on this map, destroy your video card immediately.

Enjoy, see me at #FSK405 on ETG (IRC) if you have questions.
